Onkar Insurance Brokers Ltd. is a reputable insurance agency based in Edmonton, dedicated to helping families, individuals, businesses, and employees secure suitable coverage at competitive rates. The company is seeking one (1) Office Manager.

Wage: $36.00 per hour for 30 to 44 hours per week

 

Terms of Employment:

Permanent; Full-Time

 

Employment Conditions: Morning, Evening, Weekend

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Languages:

English

 

Education and Experience:

Completion of a one- or two-year college or other program for administrative assistants or secretaries

Or

Equivalent in work experience.

 

Work Setting: Private Sector

 

Job Duties:

  • Oversee all administrative operations of the insurance office to ensure efficient day-to-day functioning.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain administrative procedures related to insurance files, client records, renewals, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate office workflows to support insurance advisors, brokers, and management.
  • Set work priorities and ensure deadlines are met for policy processing, renewals, endorsements, and client correspondence.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing insurance documentation, including applications, policy changes, claims-related correspondence, and insurer communications.
  • Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to administrative staff and office assistants.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and confidentiality of client files in accordance with industry standards and privacy requirements.
  • Prepare internal reports, correspondence, operational manuals, and business documents related to insurance operations.
  • Maintain office systems for scheduling, document control, record keeping, and client follow-ups.
  • Liaise with insurance carriers, service providers, and internal staff to ensure smooth coordination of administrative processes.
  • Support management with administrative planning and coordination to improve service delivery and office efficiency.
