Walberg Carpentry Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Carpenter. It’s a full-time, permanent position, 40 hours/week, $35.00 – $37.00/hour (depending on experience). 4% paid vacation. Our business address is 6372 Fairway Drive, Whistler, BC, V8E 0C9, Canada.
Start date: As soon as possible.
Work location: Whistler and Pemberton, BC
As a Carpenter, you will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood and other materials to construct or repair frameworks, structures, and fixtures.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, stairs, cabinets, drywall, and siding, using hand and power tools.
- Build foundations, floors, walls, roofs, and partitions using wood, steel studs, and other materials.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures as needed.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and job specifications during all phases of construction or repair.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Training construction helpers and assessing their progress.
Requirements:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Carpenter;
- Must have completed high school;
- Presentable, professional and with excellent work ethic;
- Position is physically demanding;
- Must be able to work under minimum supervision;
- Must be able to work at heights, in confined, noisy, and/or dusty spaces;
- Must be able to handle heavy loads;
- Must have excellent problem solving, decision making, job task planning and organizing skills;
- Must have own steel-toed boots and hard hat.
