Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Track and evaluate the performance of computer networks and systems
• Enforce security protocols for data, software, and hardware
• Use network monitoring and security tools to manage traffic and enhance server performance
• Assist website users and designers by addressing queries and providing needed information
• Manage access to and usage of computer networks
• Set up and configure software applications
• Install hardware and software for web servers
• Operate, support, and troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe systems, and computer workstations including peripheral devices
• Diagnose issues and perform maintenance and upgrades for web server hardware and software
• Assess, configure, and install computer hardware, network-related software, and operating systems
• Offer technical support and resolve network user issues
• Handle routine network start-up and shutdown procedures and maintain system logs
• Conduct data backup operations and manage disaster recovery processes
• Establish local area networks and configure Internet access
• Update and customize web pages, scripts, and applets
