Jamjar www.jam-jar.ca seeking an experienced Food Service Supervisor.  It’s a permanent full-time (40 hours per weekday, evening, weekend shift) position with a wage of $20.00/h, a 4% paid vacation. We offer extended health benefits and gratuities.

Start date: As soon as possible

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food.
  • Train and coach new employees.
  • Create shift schedules and evaluate the performance of employees.
  • Deal with customer complaints and solve issues.
  • Assure quality of food and service.
  • Keep records and prepare sales reports.
  • Open and close the restaurant and complete checklists and procedures for cash reporting and inventory control.
  • Handle cash.
  • Maintain the supplies and inventory by estimating and ordering supplies required for smooth operation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
  • Ensure that all areas are kept clean at all times.
  • Immediately report violations of safety or security policies to the Restaurant Manager.

Job requirements:

  • Must have completed high school;
  • Must have at least one year of experience as a Supervisor, Team Leader, or Shift Manager experience in a restaurant;
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Must have organization skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • Must be able to handle stress and work well under pressure.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be customer service oriented.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours weekends.
  • Must have time-management and decision-making skills and ability to multitask.
